The guitar is where songs live.
Portable, sociable, and endlessly rewarding, the guitar is the instrument most people can carry into a room and start a song with. Our Guitar Craft course meets you wherever you are β holding a guitar for the first time, or stuck at the same three chords for the fifth year.
We teach acoustic and electric guitar with a focus on the music you actually want to play. That said, the fundamentals are non-negotiable: clean chord changes, steady rhythm, and a picking hand that listens. We build those through real songs rather than exercises, so every practice session ends with something you recognise.
The path
- Open chords and the chord families that unlock hundreds of songs
- Strumming patterns and a sense of groove you can feel
- Fingerpicking foundations for folk and acoustic repertoire
- Barre chords and the CAGED system β when you are ready, not before
- Simple lead playing, pentatonic shapes, and how to solo without panic
You do not need to know a hundred chords. You need to play the ones you know with conviction.
Intermediate students move into style-specific work β blues, fingerstyle, indie, or songwriting β depending on interest. We will always ask what you are listening to.
