Rohan came to teaching after a decade of gigging — folk circuits, blues bars, and the long, unglamorous road of being a working guitarist. He plays acoustic and electric, but his heart is in fingerstyle, where one guitar does the work of a whole band.
Teaching philosophy
Rohan teaches guitar through songs. You will not learn a chord in isolation; you will learn it inside a song that uses it, which is how you will remember it. He is patient with beginners and honest with intermediate players who want to break a plateau.
If you can play three chords and mean it, you can play a hundred songs.
He co-facilitates the Songwriting Workshop and runs the studio's open mic nights.
