The violin is honest. It will not flatter you for the first few months, and it will reward you for years after that. It is the instrument that most teaches the ear, because there are no frets to lean on — every note is found and refined by listening.
We teach violin from age six through adult, with a classical foundation and a flexible repertoire. For younger students we help with sizing and can arrange a rental so you do not commit to a purchase before you know it will last. For adults returning after childhood lessons, we are patient with the rust and pleased to see you back.
Is the violin right for you?
The violin suits students who like detail and are willing to practise slowly. It is not the fastest instrument to feel rewarding, but few instruments are more rewarding once it does. If you are unsure, a single trial lesson is enough to tell us whether the fit is right.
