Kefir

Kefir was three months in foster, with one failed meet-and-greet where he hid under the table the whole time. The right family came on the fourth try — two experienced adopters who understood that a shy dog is not a broken dog.

Kefir now hikes every weekend in the hills around Lonavala and has a small, devoted circle of dog-park friends. The first hike took three tries to get him out of the car. The last one, he was leading.
