Pepper

Pepper came to us as a barn cat with zero interest in laps. She spent her first two months at the shelter behind the filing cabinet, emerging only at night.

Her adopter, Meera, wanted exactly that — a cat who needed no performance. On day eleven, Pepper walked out of her carrier, jumped on the kitchen counter, and stayed. She now supervises every meal and tolerates exactly one person.
