Hospitality is Strategy

Not service with a smile, but design with a spine — how guest care becomes measurable business value.

We were taught hospitality is soft — a smile, a welcome drink. It isn't. Hospitality is a system that decides whether your investor stays for the last talk or leaves after lunch.

Three hospitality decisions that move metrics

  • Seating by conversation, not hierarchy. At NeoVista, we seated by question, not title. A founder who'd scaled hiring sat next to a founder about to — the net promoter on “met someone useful” rose 34%.
  • Water on the stage. Small, but if a speaker has to ask for water, they lose thread. We place it before they arrive, at arm's reach, same spot every time.
  • Wayfinding as generosity. Not signs, but hosts. A person who says “May I walk you?” Heck — we had 12 dedicated wayfinders for 1,200, and queue times stayed under 40 seconds.

The ROI you can feel

After we added a dedicated “care host” per 40 guests at Bloom & Bond, the post-event survey line “I felt looked after” went from 7.8 to 9.2. That family now sends us cousins. That's compounding.

“Hospitality is not the opposite of rigour. It is rigour, applied to how people feel.” — Sanya, Guest Experience Lead
