Ostuni

Ostuni is a coastal Italian trattoria named for the white-washed town in Puglia. The interior reinterprets the limewashed vaults and sun-bleached stone of the region within a long, narrow Mission District storefront.

A barrel-vaulted ceiling was formed in plaster and finished by hand in a soft lime wash, catching the glow of hand-thrown ceramic pendants suspended on slender brass stems. Banquette seating in oxblood leather lines the walls, paired with solid oak tables built by a local maker.

An open kitchen anchors the far end, framed in board-formed concrete and zinc. The bar fronts a hand-laid terrazzo in chip and cream, a single material gesture that ties floor, bar, and counter into one continuous surface.
