Kathak Intermediate

Kathak Intermediate takes dancers who can already hold a basic tatkar and builds them toward stage. You will master the 16 tatkar cycle, develop clean chakkars (spins) with spotting, and learn the art of layakari — rhythmic improvisation over a given cycle. Aakash teaches composition with the tabla so you understand the conversation between foot and drum. The term closes with a thayavadayum tihai performed at our annual recital.
