Memory Care

Memory fades, belonging shouldn’t. Same chair, same raga at 5, same walk after tea.

Elderly person in calm memory care room with familiar objects

We don’t correct the past — we sit there for a while. Validation therapy means meeting the year being remembered, gently, not pulling back to now.

Approach

  • Wayfinding with colour, touch, and scent — door in warm ochre, photo by the bed, tulsi by the window
  • Validation therapy — not correction; family education every fortnight to practice at home
  • Safe wandering garden — secure, level, open and watched, not a locked ward; benches every 20 steps
  • Routine that holds — same seat at lunch, same bhajan at 5, same tiffin if family sends it
Same chair, same song, same walk after tea — rhythm holds what medicine alone can’t.

For families

Weekly video calls at fixed evening slots, monthly circles with the counsellor. We share what worked that week — which song calmed, which chair was chosen, what time sleep came.

Safety quietly

  • No restraints — attended wandering, wood-warm rails, night light on dim if preferred
  • Nurse on the cottage wing, doctor on call, vitals twice daily

Talk to our care manager

We’ll walk the cottage, meet the nurse, sit in the garden — decide slowly.
