Arogya Kiran

Monthly health camps, anemia screening and a mobile clinic that covers 28 villages in the Thar — free, documented, follow-up driven.

Arogya Kiran runs on a simple belief: a diagnosis without follow-up is just paperwork. Our mobile clinic — a converted ambulance with a lab technician, ANM and pharmacist — visits 28 villages on a fixed 30-day rotation. Each visit screens for anemia, blood pressure, diabetes and childhood malnutrition, with medicines dispensed on the spot and referrals to the PHC recorded in a duplicate book — one copy stays with the family.

In 2023-24 we conducted 342 camps, screened 19,400 people and reduced moderate anemia among adolescent girls in our blocks from 41% to 27% in two years.

Field practice

  • Fixed-day camps — villagers know the date without being told
  • Duplicate record books for every household
  • PHC linkage — referrals tracked until closure
