Meet Dr. Meera: A Conversation on Holistic Healing

On a quiet Tuesday morning — her favourite consulting hours — we sat down with our founder, Dr. Meera Kulkarni, over tulsi tea to talk about her path from Kerala's backwater resorts to a busy Indiranagar street.

From backwaters to Bengaluru

“I spent ten years in destination spas in Kerala,” she laughs. “Beautiful work. But I noticed guests saved wellness for holidays — one heroic week a year, then eleven months of damage. I wanted to build a place people could visit on a Tuesday evening.”

What holistic actually means here

“It is a word that gets misused. For me it is practical: your therapist knows your sleep, your commute, your knee. The massage is the same seventy-five minutes anywhere; the difference is whether anyone is paying attention to the context.”

Eight years in

Amara turns nine this November. The team has grown from four therapists to twenty-two, the Couples Retreat Suite just opened, and the waiting list for Anjali's deep tissue work shows no sign of mercy.

My ambition was modest: make Tuesday feel like a holiday. Everything else followed from that.
