Solar Lights Switch On in 40 Homes at Panthadi

On 16 August, lamps switched on in 40 homes across three hamlets of Panthadi block — the first phase of our Solar Lights for 100 Homes campaign. Each home received a panel, battery, three LED lamps and a mobile-charging port, installed by a four-person team trained under our Skill to Succeed programme.

The difference is immediate. Children who once studied by kerosene flame now read under clean, bright light for two hours longer each evening. Two hamlet shops have extended their hours, and families report saving an average of ₹150 a month that used to go on kerosene.

Sixty homes remain. Each costs ₹8,500, and donors can sponsor a home — we will send you the family's story and a photo of their lights switching on.
